james dean conklin - guitarist / singer

james is a filmmaker & design director. A veteran of rock bands around new york, james knows how to rock well but is also a solar tinkerer - check out his solar deco’d traveler guitar!  james is designing a solar-powered press agent to help get more gigs!

Andrew Mattina - bassist

Andy is the most-recorded bass player we’ve ever met. He works with many other bands, includng Liza & the Wonderwheels, Kirsten Williams, Paula Carino and Box of Crayons and still finds time to punch it w/ solar punch. Andy likes long walks & whiskey.

Frank Marino - drummer

Frank teaches, performs and pontificates on all things rhythm and percussion. He is a noted drum instructor in manhattan and has worked w/ groups all over the world. He is also solar punch’s fashion guru - call for a consultation!

Fall 2009

  1. IIT Guwahati, Assam, India - A great quick trip to one of india’s premiere Technology and Engineering schools, solar punch helped kick off a week of activities for their ‘Techniche’ annual tech-fest.


  1. We warmed up the stage for Pete Seeger at NYC’s EcoFest 2009, the 21st annual environmental conference and expo brought together by the west side cultural center.


  1. We performed for Starflower Experience’s ‘Long Island Naturally’ - on Manor Farm in Huntington, NY - lots of great green vendors, a solar-powered stage - a Walt Whitman actor doing readings - fun!
